Managing your technology, so you can manage business.™
Here are some frequently asked questions we get.
Q: What type of maintenance should I
perform on my computer?
A: We get asked this question a lot. Because of this, we put
together this easy to follow
pamphlet. If it seems confusing or time consuming, give us a
call and we'll come perform the maintenance for you. Don't
forget to ask about our monthly contracts in which we come a regular
basis to perform the recommended maintenance procedures.
Q: What is "spyware"?
A: Spyware is a rogue application that can be installed on your
computer without your knowledge. Sometimes, it comes in from a
WEB site you visited or a piece of software you installed.
(Careful what you install, because nothing is really free!) The
purpose of the spyware is to monitor what you do on the Internet and
relay that information back to the spyware writer. He/she will
likely sell that information as marketing information.
Q: Why is my computer suddenly running
so slow?
A: Chances are, you picked up some spyware and/or malware.
These are applications designed to either steal your information or
use your computer to attack other computers as part of a "bot net".
See our
pamphlet on running computer maintenance. If you still are
having problems, then it's time to call in a professional company to
fix your problem.
Q: I am getting a lot of bounced and
undeliverable e-mail messages for e-mail I never sent. What
can I do?
A: This is a troublesome issue. What has happened is
that a SPAMMER is sending out e-mails where your e-mail address is
used as the return address. It's not likely that the e-mails
are originating from your computer and, unfortunately, there is
nothing that can be done about. It is necessary for you to
receive those "undeliverable" messages so that you know when a real
message of yours doesn't make it to its intended recipient.
Not to worry, usually the SPAMMER will move on and use another
address eventually.
